Shijun Art 2012 Year in Review

Shijun Art has had an exciting year in the 2012. Here are a few of the highlights from 2012 that I would like to share with friends and fellow art lovers.
My oil painting "River of Memory" won Honorable Mention at the Festival of Arts, Cumming, GA April 2012

I took a trip to China. I returned for a cultural visit to my hometown and ancestral village in Guangdong Province in southern China in May 2012. A hometown is the place we feel the safest and most peaceful. It is where our deepest longings reside; it is where we come from. These are the people we remember from childhood, filling in the blanks.  These are moments of lives you might have lived. We speak a language intimate, silent and with nearly imperceptible interchanges. My paintings are very often inspired by the beautiful hometown.
I was honored to received 2nd Place Overall art award at the Peachtree Hills Festival of Arts. June 2012. My husband Charlie accepted the award for me.
Shijun Art Studio had 4 student winners for the River of Words 2012 international art and poetry contest. May 2012
